This was indeed a great man of God. I don't care what people are saying about him. He is resting I believe in the bosom of his father because I am confident that he reconciled with his heavenly father before his demise.

I very sorry to hear about Bishop Eddie Long's death this morning. I couldn't believe it. I saw his video for the first time when l was at Bible school in 1995 & ever since l fell in love with him, his message & everything he stand for. I've watched so many of his messages on video and on tapes..l have it on my mind that l will meet with him one day soon while l don't know that our meeting will not be here but over there where we meet & be part no more...pls rest in peace at the bosom of The Almighty God. Although I moved from the State of Georgia 15 years ago, each day the words Bishop has spoken into my spirit will continue to remain apart of my growth and walk with Christ.
It pains my heart I could not be there but the Lord has me caring for my Dad doing all I can to keep him loved and comfortable. He has Dementia and Stage Four Kidney Disease. In your words Bishop..."Praise God".He will be 89
on May 10th, two days before my Spiritual Fathers Birthday on May 12th. Love you much. I will keep the photo of you and I at the 2000 Super Bowl event close to my heart.

I am SO sorry to hear about the death of Bishop Long. I found out after his funeral that he had past because I was on a cruise when he died. I didn't hear about it until the Saturday after his funeral. I broke down when I heard it. My prayers are with the family during this time. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. I express sincere condolences to his wife, children, family and the New Birth church family in the passing of Bishop Eddie Long. He is finally at rest and peace, where as the world had none to give him. I will never forget the goodness of this man. He was a great man of God which whom I loved and respected. I shall never forget the day years ago I had gone to Beulah Heights Bible Courts to attend the chapel service and here comes Bishop in the lobby where I was waiting to get in. He was so excited and proud that his spiritual son Jesse Curney was speaking the word that day and he was there to surprise him. It blessed me to see this excitement of a leader who was raising up and mentoring a young man in ministry. He has left the earth, but his legacy remains and speaks loud. God blessings be upon you even the more in the days to come in Jesus Name.

I thank you for being a beacon of light when my children and I were homeless. Because of your faith I was able to sustain my faith and strive for a better life for us. We are now living in a 5/3 home and I am continuing praying the way you taught us. The children were during that time of dispair 15, 10, and 7. They are 26, 21 and 18 now with degrees, businesses and stepping toward graduation. Thanks for being the father they never had. Once more has the world overlooked the son of God. I don't know where to begin. I've been a member New Birth since 1989 when it was about 300 of us. My children grew up at NB. Since I'm a transplant from Ohio, all my friends that now I consider family, I met a New Birth. Bishop Long grew that church and took it to a whole other level.
He was a great teacher, a good man and a great leader. Bishop Long, I will never forget you. I contribute so much of who I am today because of you. As a lady, you showed me what a man was to be like, how not to settle, how to set goals, how to live, how to have faith, how to trust, how to be patient (still working on that one) but more importantly, how to LOVE and be loved. It's going to take a while. I'll still be looking for your entrance. We will continue to carry on just like you would want us to. You've taught us well. Well done!! Be at rest. Love you!!

Due to the teachings of our Bishop Eddie L. Long, my family has advanced for generations to come. He will always be remembered in our hearts and minds for the many life lessons that helped my family through the most trying times of our lives. He was an instrument of hope and provided many life lessons to his members and the community and the world at large. Bishop Long reminded us how important it is to keep moving-despite life's challenges. He also reminded us that we are all called to conquer life's obstacles and learn from them. Other life lessons included: we are blessed to be a blessing to someone and remember the importance of servant leadership-meeting individuals where they are. My sincere condolences to Vanessa Long and her family. I attended New Birth at a time when I was really lost from a broken marriage I would always sit in the back near the wall. I didn't want to get involved with any Ministry or activity. I just wanted to be under the word of my Bishop. Bishop healed my heart and my pain by speaking to my spirit every Sunday.
