Eddie “Ed” William Yost, age 76, of Lumberton, NC went to his heavenly home on October 27, 2022, to be with his Lord and Savior.
He was born August 1, 1946, in Bluefield, WV, and grew up in Tazewell, VA. He was the son of the late, James Henry Yost and Ruth Harris Yost.
He was a wonderful husband, father, papaw, and friend.
He was retired from the Public Schools of Robeson County. He was a lifetime Member of the Optimist International and served on the state level as a North Carolina East Lt. Governor and Secretary Treasurer for Optimist International. He was a boy scout leader and coached various sports with the Lumberton Recreation Department and sports programs at Hyde Park Baptist Church. He was an active member for 35 years at Hyde Park Baptist church teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, helping with children and youth programs. He also enjoyed being part of the visitation and prayer outreach events. He loved to talk to people about Jesus, be a prayer partner for anyone that needed it, and be an encourager to many. He also loved westerns and antique cars.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Faith Davis Yost of the home; his very special grandsons, Gabriel Yost and Gavin Yost of the home; his son, Edel Yost of the home; sons James Yost, Andrew Wall, and Derek Yost. He is also survived by grandchildren: Destiny Justice, Brittany Worley, Christian Yost, and Kaylin Bryan, and 7 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his father-in-law, Charles F. Davis of the home, and a niece, Micka Davis of Tabor City. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Denise Yost Hamm.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00-3:00pm on Monday, October 31, 2022 prior to his Celebration of Life service at 3:00pm at Hyde Park Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Blackburn officiating.

I thought of Ed today and decided to check on him. I am so sorry to learn of his passing 2 years ago. We had some good times in the CFVH pool! Prayers for you, Faith, and your family. Grief for a loved one never ceases.

I was sorry to learn of Ed's passing. We worked together for many years at Carroll Middle. He was always a true gentleman and will be missed by many. Thoughts and prayers for the family and all of his friends.
