Ed at the age of 14 along with his mother Selina were responsible for the family farm due to his father Byron having enlisted in the armed forces. He married the love of his life Florence Tyndall on February 9, 1951. From 1951 1958 he worked for Wells Construction in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Ed, Florence and daughters moved to Weekes in 1958 and formed the partnership of M & D Motors with friend Leo Mamer. These were busy times raising a family, maintaining a farm, contracting school busses, and owning and operating an International (IH) dealership. In 1970 they moved to Porcupine Plain where he continued to contract school busses, and formed a farming partnership with friend William Kriger. In October 2000 Ed and Florence moved to Balgonie. All through Ed's life he cherished his family and the many life long friendships he developed along the way. He took great pride in owning and raising many horses. He loved to race pony chariot and chuckwagon. Throughout the summers he could be found at a small town race track enjoying the excellent company of all those he competed with. Special thanks to everyone who shared in Dad's life.
