Edith was my mother's best friend from elementary school. They stayed in touch for over 80 years. My Mom, Jane S. Taylor, passed away on February 6, 2015 at age 98. Perhaps they are chatting it up now. I'm so sorry for the family's loss.

My heartfelt condolences to the family. Edith was truly an extraordinary person. I loved her zest for life. She always had such a profound appreciation of everything around her, providing a source of comfort when needed and forever an inspiration. She will remain in the hearts of all she touched.

I drove past the "homeplace" today and remembered the Faste family. My condolences in this difficult time. We can trust in God's love and concern for all of us.

I knew this day would come in the near future and my sadness is mixed with the wonderful childhood and adult memories of a neighbor and teacher that added so much value and richness to my life that she will live forever in my heart and soul. I will always hold dear the days of playing baseball and riding bikes with Eric, one of my best friends and staunchest supporters. Edith was one of my fifth grade teachers and I felt so special sharing my "extra credit" writings with Mrs.Faste, which is how we addressed her prior to adulthood. I could go on forever with the many memories of her life that I was privileged to share. I will end with "So long, dear Edith, enjoy your journey, I know I will see you again. Thank you so much for all the joy you shared with me."

We shall always remember Edith for her cheery attitude and her beautiful glass art works including the stained glass door inserts in Chapman Hall.
We shall miss her but hold her in our hearts.
