Mrs. Edith Juanita Elrod Jones

Edith Juanita Elrod Jones, 82, of Arcadia, Florida, formerly of Granite Falls, North Carolina and Hudson / Stow, Ohio, was greeted to heaven Monday, April 9, 2012 in Arcadia. Edith was born June 27, 1929 in Granite Falls, North Carolina, to the late Etta and George Elrod. Wife of 64 years to Edgar W. Jones, and daughter-in-law to Estella and Edgar Jones, Edith grew up in the Granite Falls area, but moved to Hudson / Stow, OH with her husband Edgar where they owned and operated a manufacturing business before relocating in February of 2012 to Arcadia. Edith, greatly loved and missed here on earth, is greatly loved in heaven. She is survived by her beloved husband Edgar of Arcadia, FL; son, Edgar W. (Dawn) Jones II, also of Arcadia; granddaughter, Jessica Jones (David) Pursley, of SW Florida; three great grandchildren, Joshua, Leigh Leigh, and Lizzie all of SW Florida; a brother, Jack Elrod of Lenoir, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held 3:00 P.M. this Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Nocatee First Baptist Church in Nocatte, Florida. A private burial will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, Florida. Arrangements are by Roberson Funeral Homes & Crematory, Punta Gorda Chapel.
