Edith Edie Mae (Krumme) Pomeroy, born on March 16, 1934 in Seymour, Indiana, to the late Bertha Krumme and the late Henry J. Krumme, peacefully passed away at home with family at her side at age 84 on October 28, 2018 in Western Springs, Illinois. She attended Indiana University and Toby Coburn, New York City. Edith was married 61 years to Paul Griffith Pomeroy. She was preceded in death by her sister, Melba Stafford and is survived by her sons, Paul Anthony Pomeroy and Mark Stephen Pomeroy; daughter, Stephanie Pomeroy Johnson; sisters, Janet Van Liew and Sarah Shade; stepbrother, Galen Krumme; stepsister, Nanette Krumme Burke; and grandchildren, Brendan McShane Johnson, Kevin Michael Johnson, and Sean Patrick Johnson. Edith enjoyed spending time with her family , especially up at their cottage in South Haven, Michigan, estate sales, her art pictures, decorating her house and gardening. She was Miss Military Ball Queen, Miss Indiana and a participant in the 2nd Annual Miss Universe Pageant in 1953. A private, family celebration will be held as well as a celebration of life next summer in Palisades Park, Michigan.
