Edmond Brown Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 11, 2024.
Edmond Burr Brown, Jr., of Leominster, passed away February 22, 2024 at the age of 81. Born in Concord, MA to the late Edmond Burr Brown Sr. and Madeline A. (Grandberg) Brown. Beloved husband for 55 years of Linda M. (Priest) Brown. Cherished father of the late Lisa Jeanne O'Neill and of Eric Burr Brown and his wife Kolby. Adored grandfather of Molly, Owen, and Madeline. Dear brother of his sisters Jean Infante and Judy Dunn, and of his late brothers David and Thomas. And a wonderful uncle to his niece and nephews.

Ed grew up in Acton, where he was known for his hard work ethic. As a young man he worked on his grandfather Ole's farm, his uncle Milton's farm stand, had a huge paper route, mowed lawns, shoveled snow, and babysat his four younger siblings. In 1953 Ed helped his father build the family home on School Street. After graduating from Acton High School, he went to work for the Acton Water Department until his enlistment in the Navy. Edmond proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1964-1967 during the Vietnam War, on the flight deck of the USS Essex.

After his military service, Ed worked for many years for the Town of Acton, in both the Highway Department and the Cemetery Department, and for E.H. Perkins as a heavy equipment operator. He most enjoyed the time he was able to work for his son, Eric, at Burr Brown Design. Ed's commitment to the company was unmatched, and clients loved his personal connection and sense of humor. If you met Eddie, you loved him instantly.

Ed loved spending time with family and friends. Holiday meals, backyard barbecues, or a cup of coffee meant the world to him. He was a friend to everyone. Most of all Ed loved the beach...He loved weekend trips to his favorite beach at Newport, RI where he would embrace the sun and the surf. "We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun."

A memorial visitation will be held at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Avenue (Rt 111), Acton, on Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 2-4 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edmond's memory to The American Heart Association.
