Edna Crossetta Obituary

Edna A. (D'Aprile) Crossetta died Monday December 13, 2004 at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, N.J. A native of Beacon, N.Y. and a longtime resident of Newburgh, N.Y., she had lived in Madison, N.J. for the past five years. Recently Mrs. Crossetta resided at Brighton Gardens in Florham Park, N.J., and at Care One in Livingston, N.J. She was 94.

Mrs. Crossetta, a homemaker, was predeceased by her husband, William J. Crossetta Sr., who died in 1991. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1983 and were married a total of 58 years. She was a parishoner of Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Her great loves were family and friends. In her younger days she enjoyed golfing with her husband and cooking her favorite Italian recipes.

A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, she is survived by her daughter, Lou Ann Gregory and her husband, John of Madison, N.J., and two sons, William J. Crossetta Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Williamsville, N.Y., and James Crossetta and his wife, Patti, of New Windsor, N.Y. She also is survived by three brothers, Vincent D?Aprile of Kingston, N.Y., Cornelius D?Aprile of Beacon, N.Y., and Raymond D?Aprile of Wappingers Falls, N.Y.; and three sisters, Gilda and Mary D?Aprile, both of Beacon, N.Y. and Lucy Pitts of St. Petersburg, Fla. She was also predeceased by two other sisters, Ann D?Aprile and Edith Olympia.

Mrs. Crossetta is also survived by nine grandchildren: Stephanie Gregory Gironda and her husband, Joseph, of Bayonne, N.J., Jonathan Gregory of New York City, Pamela Gregory of Convent Station, N.J., Laura Gregory Van Der Hulst and her husband, Dirk, of Madison, N.J., Melanie Crossetta Evans and her husband, Jeffrey, of Newburgh, N.Y., Tara Crossetta Strack and her husband, Joseph, of Newburgh, N.Y., Jennifer Crossetta Zebulski and her husband, Edward, of North Tonawanda, N.Y., Lori Crossetta of Rochester, N.Y. and Dr. William Crossetta III of Buffalo, N.Y.

In addition she is survived by eight great-grandchildren: David and Patrick Gironda of Bayonne, N.J.; Nathaniel, Emily, Annabelle and Benjamin van der Hulst of Madison, N.J.; Ashley Strack of Newburgh, N.Y. and Katelyn Evans of Newburgh, N.Y.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday December 17, 2004 at 11 AM at Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Masouleum.
