Edna Fern Short, 86, died Sunday, March 30, 2008, at Christian Care Center Lancaster. She was born September 20, 1921, in Breathitt County to Brack and Naomi Herald. She was a 25-year employee of Westinghouse.Mrs. Short was preceded in death by: her husband of 61 years, Ike Short; two children, Shirley Jean Parke and Roger Brack Short; and siblings, Joyce Knight and Douglas Herald. She is survived by: daughters, Mary Babine and Lucille McDermott of Louisville; son, Grant Short of Richmond; brothers and sisters, Francis Gabbard, Richard and R.B. Herald, Jean Eaton, Martha Lakes, Carolyn Butler. Beverly Kirby, all of Lebanon, Ohio, and Hazel Coates of Richmond; grandchildren, Randy Parke, Debbie Jarvis, Michelle Florian, RaNae Hatfield, Austin, R. Brett and Kristi Short, Dana and Danielle Babine, Bridget Mather, Kelly McDermott; and eight great-grandchildren.Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. with funeral services at 11 a.m. Thursday at Turpin Funeral Home. Burial will be in Richmond Cemetery.Pallbearers will be Dana Babine, Brett Short, Teresa Bentley, Wendall Jarvis, Kelly McDermott, Jared Parke and Bill Castle.For complete obituary visit www.turpinfuneralhome.com.

The most amazing thing about you & pappaw you made us all feel special & you both treated us all the same. You didn't love one more than the other. I know I'll get to see you again, but there is another hole in my heart. You were so precious, I Love You.
