Eduardo (Eddy) O. Salamanca, 42, of Miami, Florida, passed away on Sunday, October 4th, 2015, at Kendall Regional Medical Center in Miami Florida.
Born and raised in Miami, Eddy attended Westwood Christian School for his elementary and high school education, graduating in 1991. He attended Miami Dade Community College.
Eddy worked at Office Max as a Receiving Manager and at the Coca-Cola Company as a Warehouse Manager. His professional endeavors were cut short by his declining health. He valiantly fought 30 years of juvenile diabetes and 8 years of renal failure among other ailments, but his sense of humor and playful nature never abandoned him.
He is survived by his son William, 13, sister Betty and her husband Anibal, father Omar and his wife Jean, step brothers Alex and Michael and his wife Bequi, aunts and cousins. He will be remembered for his zest for life, the unconditional love for his only child William, and his endless generosity. He is surely driving a Fox Body Mustang in Heaven and looking down on as many sports events as possible. He will be missed and will live forever in our hearts.
A religious memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2015 at 8:30 pm at St.Kevin Roman Catholic Church, 12525 S W 42nd St (Bird Road), Miami. A memorial contribution, in Eddy's name, can be made to The Diabetes Research Institute and/or The National Kidney Foundation

Dear Salamanca family and relatives~as many have said, there are no words that adequately and appropriately express condolences on the loss of a brother, a son, a father, a relative and a friend, so young. For the people left behind, there is sorrow. But there are words that suggest the life that Eddy has moved on to...a life without pain, with only joy, in eternity with our Lord. British theologian Richard Hooker said, "Think of your child, then, not as dead, but as living, not as a flower that has withered, but one that has been transplanted, and touched by a Divine hand, is blooming in richer colors and sweeter shades than those of the earth." Certainly Eddy lived in the bloom of those colors - lived life to its fullest, enjoyed the ride. I pray that your sorrow will soon be soothed by the realization that he lives on in his family and the memories he made here. Your family is in my prayers at this very difficult time. Love, Donna Sinatra

Eddie... May you find everlasting peace in the arms of the Lord alongside your beloved Mother, Margarita.
My deepest condolences to the Salamanca family at this time of such devastating loss. My prayers are with you and I hope you find some comfort in the knowledge that Eddie is whole once again in heaven.
Betty, no words can express the love that you had for your brother and the pain I know you are going through. I'm no Eddie, but know that I am your sister and your shoulder to lean on, to cry on and to laugh with whenever you need.
To you my dearest Will, my heart, my home, my love and support for you, always.
Eddie's spirit, joy, comedy and giant heart live on in William, the light he has left behind for us all to glow in.

Eduardo,
Heaven must be a little bit brighter and more beautiful
place with you as it's newest angel! Although those of
us who love you will miss you, our lives have been made richer and happier for having known you, and you have left special memories for each of us. You faced such difficult medical issues with courage and humor, and it is a blessing
that you are now at peace. Our hearts go out to your beloved son, William, and your very special dad Omar, and all of your family at this very sad time. May you always walk hand and hand with all of the people in Heaven that we have loved and lost, for you have some wonderful company forever. May you always feel remembered with the prayers and love of all of your friends and family. Although there are many tears, there are also may happy
memories of our beloved friend Eduardo. Godspeed,
dear Eddy.

Omar and Family,
Eddie lived a special life and fought valiantly with and because of the never ending love and support you gave him. May the memories of good times and the love you shared bring you some comfort during this difficult time. The ones we love are never really lost to us, as they will always live on in our hearts and memories....

Dear Eddie,
You had a short and painful passage by this world, but fortunately for all of us, it was long enough to leave us with a wonderful legacy: little Willie. We must believe that the Lord's decision to take you so early means that he has a purpose for you in his kingdom: looking over Willie and all your Family. May you find all the peace and joy with the Lord that we were deprived from having in the last years of your life because of ailments. Our hearts are with you.

Dear Omar and Jean,
Nothing that we can say or express will ever fill the void left in your life by the premature departure of Eddie. Yet, we feel compelled to tell you how impressed we were with everything you did for Eddie, particularly in the last years of his life when he became of frail health. Your tireless efforts in providing him with the care that prolonged his life for many years, in the best conditions possible, didn't go unnoticed to any of us, and certainly to the Lord. We can say with unequivocal certitude that your love and care for Eddie was absolutely unsurpassable. There is nothing else you could have done, and you were able to actually do more than the majority would have. Find comfort, as little as it may be, in that Eddie and the Lord are extremely grateful for your unconditional love. While keeping his memory present, you must now focus your love and dedication on the rest of your beautiful family, including the gracious little Willie.

Eddy, with your passing, I lost both a friend and a brother. You left a lasting impression on myself and everyone that came into your life. You loved to laugh and you loved to see others laugh. You were generous and always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it. You also saw the good in everyone and in turn, everyone saw the good in you. You helped me learn how to express real compassion. Your passing leaves a big hole in our lives and an even bigger one in our hearts. May God bless you and keep you.

You were loved!
Eddie, you will be dearly missed, specially by your loving sister Betty, your Dad and most of all your precious son. I will always remember how your sense of humor always made everyone forget what you were going thru. Even though we were not family, I always though of you as my little brother.
Rest in peace my little brother!
Love you,

Eddy was always the fun and crazy one, always making the day brighter and filled with lots of laughter with all his craziness. But more importantly, he also had a heart of gold. As quick he was to make you laugh, he would also cry with you and be there for you. He was a huge part of my life. I will miss him terribly. I am so thankful to have been a part of his life and be able to have so many memories that I will keep close in my heart. RIP my friend. It helps to know that you are with the Lord without any illness or pain. Know that you were loved by many and you will not be forgotten.

Eduardito when I heard this heartbreaking news my heart ached real bad. When I was told your Mom preceeded your departure by months before you... my heart stopped.
Immediately, remembering our conversations while you still were at Green Briar my heart began to beat again. You and you Mom with her pretty smile will live in my heart forever. Don't forget to teach St. Peter to sing La Vaca Lechera. May both of you rest in peace in the arms of Jesus! May Jesus reign in your beautiful and sweet sister Betty's loving heart and help her throughout her grief. May your entire family and friends may also find peace and healing in Jesus and in all the fun times you gave all of us.

There are no words to adequately express the depth of my sadness over losing you. You were my little brother, and I loved you like no other. The day God took you my heart was split in two...one filled with memories, the other died with you. I will miss your extraordinary personality, showing up at my place at all hours, raiding my fridge, harassing my cats, friends, boyfriends, turning my fridge magnets upside down, and taking every opportunity to embarrass me with your constant clowning. Your comedy knew no boundaries, but neither did your generosity & compassion. And you never failed to leave our friends rolled over in laughter. You were one crazy brother. And you will always belong to my Slugger Club. May your spirit soar in our Lord's glory. I will always love you Eddy.. ALWAYS
