I felt a great loss from deep down my heart when the news of his death got to me. Edward Louis Ahenakew was a hero and great man. The greatest part, I know all this about him without even meeting him before. His love and good heart reflected so clearly in the life of one of his Daughters Terrie Decker. Since the day I met Terrie my life has changed and it's obvious that she got her caring heart from her parents. It's so obvious she's a product of a good home, a great father and a caring mother. She told me a lot about Ed, all of which are good/memorable stories. It's so sad that I didn't get to meet Ed in person, I would have love to know more about him. But it's not actually sad because I'm sure Ed is now in a better place. My condolences goes to his friends and family, may God give everyone of you the heart to bear the loss. Ed's love and thoughts shall always remain in our hearts and we'll always love him. Rest upon the chest of the most high God in peace till we meet to part no more.

I was so very sorry to read of the passing of my dad's good friend, Ed Ahenakew. Dad loved to golf with Ed when you lived in Shelby and always would giggle when he told golf stories about the two of them. When I saw his photo in the Tribune, I could not believe how he still looked the same as he did last time I saw him in Shelby. I also played softball with his wife for many years too. Please pass on our most sincere condolences to the entire Ahenakew family. We have all of you in our thoughts and prayers. Mary (Hasquet) Wagner Family. Havre, Montana.
