Ted passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, on November 19, 2014 at age 82. Ted was born in Leeds, England on March 24, 1932. At age 14 he began his apprenticeship as a painter and decorator. In 1950 he joined the "Glorious Glousters" and headed off to the Korean War. After the war Ted returned to England and completed his apprenticeship. He married Maisie in 1955 and later that year their daughter, Judith, was born. Looking for a better life for his family, Ted left England for Canada in 1955, eventually settling in Vancouver. There they welcomed the birth of their son, Paul. Ted enjoyed success as a professional painter for over 46 years, finally hanging up his paintbrush at age 80. He loved a good story and to walk the trails near his Dunbar home, and was considered a great friend to all "The Boys." Ted is survived by Maisie, his wife of 59 years, daughter Judith, son Paul and his wife Cathy, and by his beloved grandchildren, Matthew, Tess, Jack and Chehalis. A Celebration of Ted's Life will be held November 28, 2014 at 6 p.m. at GreyChurch, 3092 Fraser Street, Vancouver.
