Edward Benoit, Jr Obituary
Edward attended St. Leo High School in Chicago and earned his associate degree in business at Moraine Valley Community College. He married Florence T. Benoit (Bischof) on October 6, 1962, and they shared a life of love, fun and adventure including several long distance moves to the West and Southeast coasts.
A proud veteran, Edward served in the US Army from 1954 to 1956. He dedicated 30 years to Sears Roebuck and Co., where he excelled as a sales professional.
Edward cherished spending time with his family, enjoyed traveling, and was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. In his spare time he loved to golf, garden, work on home projects and create elaborate pranks. His family is grateful for his gentle, patient, and hard-working nature.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward E. Benoit, Sr., and Sarah Benoit, as well as his brothers Bill, Dan (Marilyn), and sisters Patricia (Tom) North, Jean (Ray) Rake, Donna (Ralph) Dixon, and Judy (Jack) Regan.
Edward is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Florence, and their children: Michele (Ric) Romero of Cave Creek, AZ; Connie (Blake) Geer of Syracuse, IN; and Edward (Cheryl) Benoit, III of Lemont, IL. He is also loved and remembered by his grandchildren: Paige Geer, Morgan Geer, Will Geer, Ryan Geer, Kenneth Benoit, and Edward Benoit.
He is also survived by siblings: Jim (Janice), Barbara Cisko, John (Nancy), Terry (Betty), Ione (Dave) Ellis, Fred (Julie), Steve, and over 60 nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in Illinois in the spring (TBA), and a private burial will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Shriners Hospital for Children, or a favorite charity.

Now John and Ed are together as John died on Ed's birthday. Ed was a kind and gentle brother-in-law I will always remember him asking first how are you and caring bout John .

I think back to when I married John and had my first baby John Patrick and your Mom and Dad babysat him and I was so happy to be able to know he was in good hands they were very patient and kind .Your Dad was always soft spoken and genuine ~~A lot like his Father Ed Senior .The Christmas parties the weddings the graduation parties the picnics are all behind us now. I think back to the last time I saw your Dad and that was at Franklin House .I was sad I could not go to see him when John was unable to go to Freddies. All these years all the great and loving memories. I am deeply sorry for your loss but it was my gain to have known such a great man . The words I am sorry come from John also~~ your brother number 10th child born to Ed and Sarah .
