Edward Benjamin "Eddie Ben" Breitbach

Edward Benjamin "Eddie Ben" Breitbach, age 52, of North Buena Vista, IA, passed away unexpectantly at 6:06 p.m. on Monday, May 4, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque. To honor Edward's life, funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 8, 2015, at Immaculate Conception Church, North Buena Vista, IA, with Rev. Marvin J. Bries officiating. To celebrate Edward's life, family and friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2015, at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street. Family and friends may also visit from 9:00 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church on Friday, May 8, 2015. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Edward was born on September 20, 1962, in Dubuque, Iowa, son of David and Mary (Hefel) Breitbach. Eddie Ben graduated from Guttenberg High School in 1981. He was working for the family business, Breitbach's Garage, as a mechanic. Eddie Ben lived life to the fullest with no regrets. He had a heart of gold and loved to have a good time with family and friends. Eddie Ben was fun loving and well known for teasing his nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends. Eddie Ben is survived by his parents, David and Mary Breitbach, North Buena Vista, IA; his siblings, Alan (Pam) Breitbach, North Buena Vista, IA, Sherry (Harley) Pothoff, Durango, IA, Cathy Burns, Rochester, MN; and his nieces and nephews, Nicole, Mitchell, Victoria, and Isabel Breitbach, Ashley, Luke and Matthew Pothoff, Anna and Ellie Burns. Eddie Ben was preceded in death by his grandparents, Benjamin and Catherine (Meyer) Breitbach and Edward and Rita (Ruden) Hefel. An Edward Benjamin Breitbach memorial fund has been established. Eddie Ben was a generous man and his final gift was made possible through donation with the Iowa Donar Network.
