Edward Clemons Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 20, 2024.
Edward Stephen Clemons, age 71, originally from Royal Oak, passed peacefully in Clarkston, on the morning of June 19th from natural causes.

Eddie was the first of four children. He was born on May 31st, 1953 to Roberta Aimer and Willard Clemons, lived in Berkley for a short time until moving to Royal Oak as a young boy, where he would reside until age 70.

Preceded in death by his parents, beloved aunt Bonnie, brother Kurt and survived by his sister Lisa, brother Dan, "his favorite person in the world" - his niece Olivia, whom he would always brag to people about how he "used to change her diapers", and two grand-nieces that he adored, Elliana and Juliana.

A Dondero high school class of 1971 graduate, Eddie had a large social circle and he always had jokes to tell. His sense of humor was one of his best qualities, even if it got him in trouble occasionally.

He worked in glass cutting, pest control and the settled into his true passion, cooking. Eddie was "Chef Edju", as he called himself. He enjoyed cooking for his family and also loved his job that he retired from in 2017, a chef in an assisted living community.

He enjoyed gardening, music, hanging on his deck and grilling, riding his bike, fishing and boating. His love for God was evident in his final months.

He is so loved and will be missed by many.

Eddie did not want a funeral, but a celebration of life will follow this summer.

I knew Eddie from Dondero and was one of his high school girlfriends. He was cool and calm and sweet.

We knew Ed for 24 years from when he´d come visit his mom to when he cared for her to when he moved into her house and became our across the street neighbor. He was always good for a chat and a story, a smile, a laugh, a wave, a watchful eye on the neighborhood. We miss you, Ed! Thanks for being part of our lives for so long.

Eddie was not only my uncle, but he helped raise me like his own. I am forever indebted to him. I will miss him so much here on earth but I know he is having a party up there with everyone he has been missing for years. Love you forever and ever, my Eddie! Ellie, Julie and I will miss our routine with had with you!! Thankful we had 35 and a half years together.

Ed was my childhood neighbor. He will always have a special place in my heart. He and his Pomeranian would always be at the park around the block. He would always share a laugh and some ice cream with my friend and I, even if it was our second time having it that day. Thanks for all the memories!

I grew up next door to Ed, and I have a lot of fond memories of him. He´d always give me icecream which I´m sure my Mom hated! As I grew up I remember him always checking in on me, walking over to talk to me through our fence. I´m really gonna miss the little waves we´d share while I was driving off, you´ll be missed Ed!
