Mr. Edward F. Crouch, 91, of Oglesby, died at 6:26 P.M. on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at the Green Country Village.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Crouch will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, November 8, 2013 at the Oglesby Cemetery with Rev. Charles Cunningham officiating. Interment will be in the Oglesby Cemetery directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
The Crouch family will receive guests for visitation at the Stumpff Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M.
Mr. Crouch was born at Brintwood, Arkansas on July 1, 1922 the son of Cleve and Mollie McCollough Crouch. The family lived in various locations until settling in the Oglesby area. He entered the United States Navy on September 17, 1942 and served during World War II as an Aviation Machinist's Mate at Waldron Field at Corpus Christi, Texas until receiving his Honorable Discharge on March 15, 1946. He was married to Wanda Faye Inman on September 28, 1946 in Independence, Kansas. They made their home in the Oglesby area where he was an active volunteer in the community and one of the founding members of the Oglesby Volunteer Fire Department in 1958. Mr. Crouch was employed by Perkins Construction Company in Bartlesville for 18 years and then with George Brown Plumbing Company in Bartlesville until his retirement in 1986. Mr. Crouch considered his pecan grove in Oglesby his little piece of heaven and he spent many hours there driving his tractor and watching the pecans grow.
Mr. Crouch is survived by two daughters, Janet Hoffman and husband Montee of Piedmont, Oklahoma, and Arlene McMurtrey and husband Tony of Ochelata, one son, Eddie Crouch of Oglesby, two sisters, Amy Lawson and husband Don of Ramona and Barbara Rogers and husband Charlie of Ochelata, two brothers, Bill Crouch and wife Alta of Oglesby and Junior Crouch and wife Edna of rural Bartlesville, eleven grandchildren, Cheryl Noble, Steven Hoffman, DeeAnn Quantie, Tracie Goad, Dewayne Cranor, Brandon Cranor, Bo Scott, Amber Scott, Cody Scott, Christopher McMurtrey and Shannon Moore, and twenty great grandchildren. Mr. Crouch was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Faye Crouch on November 1, 2000, his parents, Cleve and Mollie Crouch, two sisters, Margaret Miller and Lucille Cunningham, one daughter, Donna Cranor Scott and one great grandson, Jackson McMurtrey.
