Edward Allen Holmquist was born on November 17th, 1957, in Elgin, Illinois. He passed away on February 9th, 2024, at Norton's hospital in Louisville, KY, with his loving children by his side.

He was the son of the late Lester and Janet Holmquist. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Emily Holmquist, brother, Eric Holmquist, and nephew, Keath Holmquist.

Ed served in the U.S. Airforce and was a military veteran. He was a truck driver for 40+ years and traveled the entire country, including Canada. He was an avid car enthusiast who enjoyed car shows and had several friends within the community. He was also a skilled mechanic.

He was married to Connie Arkenberg Holmquist.

He is survived by his three children; Dawn Horine, Nicholas Holmquist (Ashley),and Angella Holmquist. His grandchildren include: Cameron Horine, Jasmine Holmquist, Caden Horine, Malia Holmquist, Andrew Holmquist, Emma Heck, Ryder Urton, Lucy Heck, and Luke Poirier His sister Eva Sherard (Terry), brother Earl Holmquist (Deby), and Marsha Holmquist. Niece and nephews; Emily and Shawn Holmquist, Marc, Derrick, and Dallas Sherard and Abby and Evan Holmquist.

He was a loving father and fantastic grandfather who will be missed immensely.

Eddie wanted to be cremated and requested no funeral services held.

We will, however, be holding a memorial at a later date.

I worked with Ed for over 20 years. Quite simply put Ed was the most benevolent person I ever knew. He was always there to help me out whatever I needed.

Ed was always ready to help anyone that needed help with anything. He was a hard worker for his family and a great Dad and Grandad for his grandchildren and a great friend to me and my family!
