Mr. Edward ‘Ed’ Carlton Lawson, Jr., age 77, of Douglasville, GA passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2009. He was born March 24, 1932 in Knoxville, TN son of the late Edward C. Lawson, Sr. and Mildred Dykes Lawson. He was also preceded in death by his brother William Harvey ‘Bill’ Lawson. Mr. Lawson was a member of Charles H. McKinney Masonic Lodge #433, Atlanta Scottish Rite and Yarrab Shrine Temple. He was past president of Yarrab Shrine Brass Band. Mr. Lawson was the owner of Lawson Realty, Inc. and Lawson Foods, Inc. He loved to cook and was considered a gourmet cook. Mr. Lawson was an alumni member of the University of Tennessee and a member of Central Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Barbara Lawson of Douglasville, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie and Karen Lawson of Douglasville, GA, Harry and Robin Lawson of Bremen, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Carla and Guido Rinaldi of Peachtree City, GA, Angie and Joe Tyson of Douglasville, GA, Karen ‘Coo’ and Tony Addison of Douglasville, GA; grandchildren, Rachael, Jessie, and Travis Strickland, Kristy and Brittany Tyson, Taylor Lawson, Jeffrey Addison, Blake McGinnis; great-grandchildren, McKenzie Mitchell, Ryder Mixon, Madison and Jayden Tyson; brother Robert and Pattie Lawson of Ranburne, AL; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bill and Frances Green; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, November 13, 2009 from 6-8 PM. The memorial service will be Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the Rosehaven Chapel with Rev. George Wannamaker officiating.
