Edward Adam McPhail, 42, of South Portland, Maine, passed away tragically on Saturday night, May 21, 2022, unexpectedly in his home.
He was born in Portland on January 28, 1980, to Edward Ralph McPhail and Dianne Louise Kennard McPhail. Eddie was a very hard working man and was very passionate about his career in Roofing and did the best he could to provide for his family no matter what. If he was friends with you, he would give the shirt off his back if he cared about you. He had a huge heart and would go to war for anyone he loved and cared about. Eddie had two children and one on the way with his Partner Casey J. Smith/McPhail.
Eddie loved his family more than anything in this world. He loved going to the beach and spending time with his four year old son Eddie McPhail Jr. and his stepdaughter Kearra Burghardt. His best friend was his sister Kristina McPhail. Together they were inseparable. In 2012 his world was completely turned upside down when she passed away along with our father shortly after. He lost himself and the pain never really subsided for him.
He was predeceased by his mother, Dianne L. Kennard McPhail; father Edward Ralph McPhail; grandfather Cliff L. Kennard Sr.; grandmother Selma L. Kennard; grandfather Wallace McPhail; grandmother Nellie McPhail; sister Kristina Lee McPhail; uncle Bill, uncle Bruce, uncle Eric and uncle James.
He is survived by the McPhail family; the Kennard family: aunt Dorothy L. Kennard, aunt Olga L. Kennard Yattaw and family; uncle Clifford L. Kennard Jr. and family, and uncle Melvin L. Kennard and family; first daughter Sydney Jordan; grandson Leo Phelan; and second daughter Aaliyah McPhail. He is also survived by his brother Brandon McPhail, sister Bree McPhail, brother Marc Sears, sister Nikki Shaw, and brothers, Derrick DiCenso and Tim DiCenso. Also survived by cousin Julie and Pooler Family, and special friends, Sherry DiCenso, Bill Lunt, Lynn Higgins and George Smith.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Eddie at a later date and time to be announced by his brother Brandon McPhail.
Arrangements by Hobbs Funeral Home, South Portland.

My condolences to the entire family and anyone else Eddie touched! He was a good guy always respectful to me! My heart breaks for Casey and little Eddie and KiKi it saddens me he´ll never be able to see his son be born but I have this belief that when someone dies a child is born, I think the person whose passed away hand picks that baby! So I know he´ll meet his son in heaven before he´s born! God bless
