Dear Sherry: what a loss for all of us, but especially you. Ed was a great guy and we will miss him. I am so fortunate to have some great memories of him (and you!), all of which somehow related to AO activities. I sure hope that our paths can cross sometime.

I'll miss our good friend very much.

There is little that can be said to soothe the grief that all of you are having to deal with. Even memories bring pain now; but rest assured, along with time, they will also bring great joy and happiness when recalling your many years of having had Ed with you. He spent all his life giving of himself to others and was a fighter to the end. It's now his turn to be the beneficiary of the joy and peace the Lord he served promised him. Thanks for so much, Ed.

To the Mosby family, My deepest condolence to you at this very difficult time. I worked with Dr. Mosby many times over the last 15 years in the O.R. at TMC. I enjoyed his sense of humor, his wit,and integrety. I watched him perform brilliant work(especially his TMJ scopes) on our patients who needed his knowledge and expertise in making thier lives so much better. May you find strength in knowing the love and devotion that he had for all of you. I will truly miss him.

I feel deeply priviledged to have trained under the guidance of Dr. Mosby. He not only passed on his wealth of surgical knowledge to his residents, he instilled a deep sense of what it means to truly care for a patient. He leaves all of us in the oral surgery profession a shining example to which we can aspire. I feel an immense loss from his passing and wish to express my condolences to Sherry and the rest of his family. I know the Lord will grant you peace in knowing that he is in a better place and that his incredible spirit lives on in you and in each of us that were lucky enough to know him.

To All the Mosby Clan,

The passing of Ed leaves a large hole in my heart. Ed was like a brother to me. We were not always close in proximety, but always close in mind.

Our families have been close for over forty-six years. It all started in Japan while Ed and I were in the Navy. Our children, Karen and I had three(Sandy, Christie, and Corby), Ed and Mary had three(Sherry, Debbie, and Dale), all were either made or born in Japan.

Over the ensuing years we have been in different places at different times but always close in mind and spitit.

We have all been blessed in having Ed and his entire family touch our lives and much the better for it.

All my love always,

Uncle Maury

The UMKC School of Medicine family has lost an exceptional teacher, colleague, clinician, and leader. Dr. Ed Mosby was instrumental in initiating the School’s combined oral surgery-MD degree program, one of the first in the nation, and in directing it for a number of years. We join his family, friends, and colleagues in mourning his passing but also in celebrating his life. Dr. Mosby’s quiet smile and solid good sense coupled with a vision for excellence in education and patient care will be deeply missed.

Dear Sherry, Debbie, Dale and families,

I am so saddened by the loss of your dad. I am, however, relieved that he is finally at peace.

You all became so precious to me after your mom and dad joined Maury and I in Japan in 1960, where your dad and Maury were Naval Dental Officers. We all had no other family nearby, and that turned out to be a blessing, because we all became chosen family.

I remember more of Japan than you did, as you were all babies in Japan. But your mom and dad became lasting friends. We had such fun!!Even though we lived miles and states apart after leaving Japan, we always remained close; and when we did manage to get together, it was as if we never had been apart. We shared happy times, and sad ones too, but we were always there for each other.

I have been fortunate that Dale lives in California, and so I have been able to get to know and love Jenni too, and watch Olivia and Leo grow (kind of; we still don't see enough of each other; California is a big state). I also love that Dale and my son, Corby had the opportunity to become really good friends in college - a friendship that has remained close through adulthood.

You all have been and will continue to be in my prayers during this trying time of loss. I am so thankful that you were fortunate enough to spend time with your dad in his final days. He knows how much he is loved and how he has been blessed by you all.

I pray that God's love will help to ease your sorrow in the loss of first your mom, and now your dad, only a few years apart. May God's peace replace your heartache with warm and loving memories. I know that I am blessed with the memories I hold close to my heart, of good times with your mom and dad.

Sending my love,

Aunt Karen
