My fondest memories of Uncle Eddie were his countless stories about life at the Post Office. I always would tell Eddie that "You make more money Retired than I do working at the Post Office". He would tell the most interesting stories about his days as a "Sea Bee" in WWII. My most memorable memory of him was as a small child. Believing in "Santa Claus". Then as you grew older, finally realizing that the Real "Santa Claus" was Uncle Eddie!
His reputation as "Santa Claus" will be in our hearts Forever...
I will forever remember Him and Auntie Shirley coming to my 50th Birthday Celebration last October.
I'll see you in Heaven Ed and Shirley, If I don't end up in "HELL"

I can not imagine the pain you are feeling with the loss of your father so soon after your mother. I hope you can find some small amount in comfort in knowing how many kids lives your father touched through his coaching at Falldin. I was lucky enough to play football and baseball for him and enjoyed it very much. I will always remember the coaching duo of Murzyn and McMerchie, two of the nicest guys and fun coaches to play for.In thinking back I always remember your dad having the same positive attitude after the game weather we won or lost. I think this shows me your dad cared more about the kids he was coaching than the game itself, something that some of the todays coaches could learn from.
Our family's thoughts and prayers are with you.

Long held memories I have always go back to my pathetic attempts at trying to get up on waterski's at (I believe?) Rice Lake. It was one of my earliest reality checks. As I grew older, my conversations with Uncle Eddie turned to the game of golf! As I was working at a golf course at the time, the subject always turned to getting Eddie, Sherm, and Jim to come out and enjoy a foursome together. I regret that we never made it out, but it was nice talking about it. Uncle Eddie is now playing on the greatest "Links" of them all.
Give Shirley our love too, we miss you so! David L

Our family loved to go to Aunt Shirley and Uncle Eddie's house when we were growing up. Uncle Eddie must have restocked vending machines in his spare time because as I seem to recall, (remember I was just a little girl), their basement had a room that was filled with boxes of every kind of candy you could imagine. Uncle Eddie would let us pick out a candy bar to eat. I used to think that Edju, Nancy, and Robert were the luckiest kids in the world to have all that candy! I now know that they probably didn't get anymore candy than I did. I remember going home saying to myself, "Those lucky ducks!" Thank you again, Uncle Eddie, for the candy.
