EDWARD REID Obituary
December 15, 1938 - December 17, 2013
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ed Reid. His memory will be cherished by his wife Gail, his children Curtis, Liana, David (Stefanie) and their Mother Sylvia. His granddaughters Krista (Gordon), Valerie, Denise, and great-grandson Carter. Two stepdaughters Marsha (Dar) and Melanie, one step-granddaughter Jessica. His siblings Paul, Pauline, Mike, Nestor, Josie, Joe and Janice. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Ed was predeceased by his mom Theresa, his dad Nick and his brothers Leo and Alex. Prior to his passing Ed was residing in the Wakaw area. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping, music and spending quality time with his family and friends. He worked in the Financial Services Industry spending many years at Co-op Trust and the Credit Union. Ed was also known as a local musician, he loved to play his guitar, sing and preformed with several bands. Family and friends please join us for the funeral service on Monday, December 23rd, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Wakaw Rec Centre 201 Main Street- Wakaw. Paul Michalchuk officiating. Interment will be at a later date. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Marc Blondeau of Kushneryk Funeral Service, Wakaw SK 306-233-4403. The family kindly requests that any donations made in Ed's name be made to the Rosthern Union Hospital.

Curtis, Liana and David . . . I was very saddened to hear of your dad's sudden passing and was disappointed that I was unable to be with you just prior to Christmas. I have fond memories of our camping excursions and of your dad's laughter and his wonderful singing voice!

Gail and family, to me, Uncle Ed was a thread that bound the family together. His reunion organizing, the energy both of you put into it, researching the family history...He will be missed by all. May your memories of him bring comfort, your stories laughter..

It's easy for time to go by and not think about all the good things you see in someone and the fun times until you wake up one day and you have to face that reality. It really hits you hard when someone who has always been there suddenly isn't. Thank God for the memories and good stories we have left to share and remember. May peace be with us as we remember the good times.

We played together with John Kolynchuk for many years. Ed was an accomplished performer with a great personality. Everyone I knew liked Ed. He had a fantastic memory for names.

It's with heavy heart that I express our deepest sympathy to my Uncle Ed's family. He was responsible in getting me interested in music, singing and guitar. He taught me and gave me my first guitar when I was around 8 yrs old. He was more like an older brother to me and all the memories from growing up together and for the last 60 plus years are all treasures that will be cherished forever. For many years Ed was our lead guitar and singer in the Continental Ensemble with John Kolynchuk and Ray Penner. In 1982 we recorded an LP and Ed sang "Could I have this dance?". I have many fond memories of dance jobs and road trips with Ed. His ready laugh and sense of humour were wonderful. Condolences to Ed's family and friends.
