Edward A. Rivera, 59, of Las Vegas, passed away on January 1, 2018. He was born February 15, 1958 to Eduardo and Consuelo Badillo Rivera, in Las Vegas NV. Edward served as a Sous Chef at the MGM Hotel in the 1980s and later went back to school and changed careers. He served as a Human Resource Consultant both as a federal government employee and contractor. He was instrumental in hiring personnel for TSA at many major airports after 9/11. He graduated from Bishop Gorman High School, received his BSBA from UNLV and received his Master's Degree in Finance and Economics from Strayer University . Edward was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sisters, Sara Rivera Schroerlucke and Virginia "Ginny" Rivera Gaige; brother-in-laws, Don Schroerlucke, Jack Gaige, and three nephews, Robert and Michael Gaige and David Schroerlucke. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday January 10, 2018 at Palm Mortuary, 1325 North Main, Las Vegas NV 89101. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the Bishop Gorman High School Chapel, 5959 South Hualapai Way, Las Vegas, NV 89148. Interment will be a private function with immediate family only.

It is with a Sad Heart that Edward left so early. I will miss talking to him and our time together when I was able to make it to Las Vegas. I will always be thinking of him and saying prayers for him. May Edward enjoy Heaven and running with the angels. Rest In Peace Edward.

I am so grateful for having had the opportunity to reconnect with Eddie over the past several years via Facebook & a handful of events that allowed us to catch up. Sara--he really did remind me so much of my own little brother--and I will always treasure his wit, his wicked political insight, spirituality, and philosophical bent. Already I am missing his input into how I formulate my view of the world. I imagine him so excited & overwhelmed by all the answers he now has access to! The universe is yours my friend.
