I am saddened today to observe this great a teacher
and thoughtful person has passed away. He had contributed so greatly to me as a graduate student at UNMC, as a young immigrant student and my children. Carol and I fondly remember the going away party Vicki and Ted extend to us at their home when we left Omaha and pursue our new life in Boston after graduate school.
God Bless his Soul for the many kind things and always pleasant disposition he has shown to me as a young student under his mentorship/advisor.

Dr. Roche is easily in the top ten of teachers and role models in my years of education. He had a knack for making complicated subject matter easily understandable. His retirement was a loss for pharmaceutical education.

My sincere condolences to Ted's friends and family, of course. But Ted was a major influence in my personal and professional life. We were students together at Ohio State. Then he became my major professor for graduate studies at UNL. His family and mine became close during that time. We spent time at each other's houses, went to dog shows, shot fireworks and played badminton. We were jubilant when the Huskers won and sad when they did not. He was my friend and mentor and leader. I loved him. He is gone. I will miss him.

I was blessed to know this wonderful man for almost 4 years. He was a truly remarkable man. I will miss our talks, your wise wisdom and humor. Fly high my friend.
