Edward Hugh Slattery

SLATTERY Edward Hugh Slattery of Metairie, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2008, at the age of 72. He was born on February 23, 1936, in Cayo District, Belize to Frederick and Angelica Slattery. Mr. Slattery proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a retired jewelry salesman, and was a member of the Padua 20's. Edward is preceded in death by his father. He is survived his wife, Marilyn Baudoin Slattery; his mother, Angelica Awe Slattery; his children: Shawn Clancy-Lee and husband Rickey, Lori Hopkins and husband Mike, and Jimmy Menkiewicz and wife Debbie; his sisters: Olgita Fox, Mavis Ann Early, Cheryl Uzzell, Vera Ellen Buras and Dawn Keeney; and his brothers: Frederick Slattery and Patrick Slattery. Edward is also survived by his grandchildren: Stacey Clancy and fiancé Derek, Steffon Lee, Kelly, Kimberly and Michael Hopkins, and Ryan Menkiewicz; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2008. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 noon.
