News Death Notice

STOERMER, Edward S. Age 90, son of William and Josephine (Swift) Stoermer, passed away with his family beside him. Ed graduated from Chaminade High School and served with the 36th Texas Division during WWII. Deployed as part of an engineering company, he saw service at the Battle of Monte Cassino and the Invasion of Southern France. Returning to Dayton, OH after the war, Ed graduated with a degree in business from the University of Dayton. He was a member of St. Christopher's Parish, Vandalia, OH, the Engineers Club of Dayton, and Spring Run Farms Trout Club. A lifelong resident of Dayton, Ed is survived by his wife of 61 years Dorothy (Pax) Stoermer, their five children: Mary, Edward (Beverly), Matthew, Mark (Margaret), and Anne (Edward) Lizak; 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, as well as many friends who will miss his generous spirt. Plans for the funeral and service are pending. Remembrances can be made in his name to the Miami Valley Hospital Turning Point Program. Eddie was one of my husband's oldest and dearest friends. Ken is devastated to lose Eddie. We are so blessed that Ken has so many wonderful memories and fun stories about his dear friend.
