I was reading my Bible the other day, and your Mass card was in the verse I was looking up.1 Corin. 16:13 " Be watchful, stand firm in your faith, be courageous, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love." We miss you so much. Jiawei is doing a great job raising the girls. I am sure you can see all that that they are doing at school and in their activities. Hi Edwin,
I can't believe it's been over a year now and as I said before, although we were not close when you were here with us doesn't mean I don't think of you and your mom from time to time. I visited your wife and kids on Chinese New Years and although I didn't get to see your daughters, I did have a chance to talk to your lovely wife. I hope and pray that you continue to give her the strength she needs to take care of herself and your to lovely daughters. You and your family will always be in my thoughts and prayers.

I still can't believe you're gone. It seems like just yesterday we were at the West Orange house, playing cards. I have this enduring image of you in the kitchen there, practicing your tennis swing or your golf swing and musing out loud about which sports car you planned to buy...I would just roll my eyes and smile but, man, I'd give anything to have those moments back right now. I'll miss you, Edwin. I already do.

I was fortunate to have met Edwin (and the Eng family) nearly 28 years ago when I became friends with his sister Evangeline. I have always loved them as much as I love her, and so it is hard for me to say goodbye. Edwin - May you find rest and peace in your eternal place. To the best godfather anyone could ever ask for:
From every phone call, greeting me with "Memememememe," to every birthday dress, piece of jewelry and fashion-forward Christmas present, you spoiled me more than ever. I am so lucky. I didn't mind you playing your farts off as being mine; it always made for a good laugh. You were smartest of the smart and coolest of the cool and somehow you managed to always have the answers. I don't know the answer, and probably never will, to why you left so early. But this isn't goodbye. I'll make sure to spoil Alissa and Celia and tell them the rules you taught me, about makeup, nails, and most importantly, boys. I can only hope to live life with the fearless determinism and strength you always embodied. I miss you already.

We were talking about looking at a car less than 2 weeks ago. Then the shock came as I landed at Newark AP after a ski trip. I was saddened by sudden turn of event. I still remember all the times we spent together growing up in Newark; fishing, skating, skiing...

I didn't have the chance to know Edwin as well as I would have liked to. But I'm convinced we could have been great friends...
The thing that stuck me when I first met Edwin was his kindness and his generosity. From that moment, I was convinced that Jiawei had chosen the right guy !
