EUBANKS, Edwin Carmon 'Eddie'
Eddie was born June 6, 1923 in Spokane, Washington, and passed away on February 20, 2014. He will be missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Terbeek Eubanks, and his mother, Margaret Eubanks Dave, and is survived by his sister, Margaret Sabatka Hull; nieces Debbie Huber, Jan Adair, and Sandra Shields; by his cousins Betty Huntington and Alice Cano; and by his great- and great-great nieces and nephews.

Eddie's family moved to Fair Oaks, California in 1930, where he resided most of his life. He served in the Army Air Force during WW2, stationed in Europe. Edwin was a disabled war veteran, having lost part of one lung to tuberculosis contracted from air-transporting war victims. He loved to tell of his growing up in Depression-era Fair Oaks, and of his war experiences, which included ferrying of military brass and celebrities including General Eisenhower and band leader Glenn Miller.

After WW2, Eddie lived in Alaska for several years, then operated a night club in Oregon. After returning to Fair Oaks, Eddie took many fishing trips to Idaho. Unable to do strenuous work, his passion was restoration of antique automobiles. He bartended for many years at Callison's in Sacramento and was known for his sense of humor, which he retained until his final day of life. He was generous and kind-hearted and opened his home to many in need.

An informal memorial service will take place on March 8, at 11:00 a.m. at Monroe's Chapel, 7960 Winding Way, in Fair Oaks.
