Edwin Paguntalan Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 8, 2011.
Edwin Paguntalan, 67, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away September 8, 2011 at Northeast Florida Community Hospice. Born in Iloilo, Philippines, Edwin graduated from Central Philippines University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Due to his natural athleticism and leadership, he became a captain of the university's basketball team. He arrived to the United States in 1969 and moved to Florida in 1989. Edwin is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Felvita, daughter, Marla (Manuel) and three grandchildren: Aidan, Julia, and Samuel. He is also survived by two brothers, one sister and many extended family members.

Edwin was a member of Jacksonville Word of Faith where he rededicated his life to Christ.

He was an avid runner and completed several marathons in Jacksonville. He enjoyed bowling and competing in area tournaments with three 300 games in his career. His spirit was lifted when his grandchildren were born and loved spending time with them. Edwin will be remembered most for his comical behaviors, endless jokes, leadership and perseverance to be the best. He loved this country and was proud to be an American.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 22, 2011 in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin, 11801 San Jose Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32223 www.hgmandarin.com (904)288-0025.

Death is the great clarifier; it shows us what is important.

Hello Tito Ed,
You have gone ahead of us... I/We will sorely miss you. I wish we would have had more time (talking about your "favorite" President Obama) but, it's not in the cards for now and please, do not worry about Auntie Ving. We will take good care of her... Kim, Dennis, Ethan and Justin

We would like to share a fond memory we have of Ed. Christmas eve 2005. Together Ed and Marla sang Nate King Cole's Unforgettable. As Ed and Marla sang, by looking at Ed, one could tell, that because of Marla, the song forever had a special place in his heart. Ed, like the title of the song, you truly are "Unforgettable"...
Please accept our sympathy.

Marla - I remember the early bowling years and how much fun we had. I thank your parents and you for inviting me along. I think all friendships should start in a junior bowling league!
Your father will be missed, but not forgotten.

Love,
Faye, Gordon & Haley

I have very fond childhood memories of my Tito. I knew him to be a very happy-go-lucky person like the rest of our Paguntalan clan.

We will miss him dearly. Our love and prayers go to you my dear cousin and Tita.
