Edwin Harmon Pollock (Ed)

July 28, 1931 – September 1, 2025

Edwin Harmon Pollock, known to most as "Ed," passed away on September 1, 2025, in Mountain View, California, at the age of 94. Born on July 28, 1931, in the Bronx, New York, Ed lived a full, dynamic, and colorful life-always on his own terms.

He is survived by his children, Laurie, Steven and Felicia; his beloved grandchildren, Jesse, Sierra, Abigail, Ean, and Cassidy; and his great-granddaughter, Amelia. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A proud NY native, Ed was a die-hard Yankees fan from the time he could walk. He grew up attending games in New York in the 1930s and remained fiercely loyal to the team for the rest of his life. Even into his 90s, he watched every game he could, often with a strong opinion on the lineup and a deep knowledge of the team's history.

He started his professional life working in his family's pharmacy in New York, and went on to build an accomplished career in Human Resources and other industries. Always an entrepreneur at heart, Ed kept working long after many would have retired-because he loved the challenge.

Though he was never quite a sailor-despite buying a sailboat and taking lessons-Ed loved the idea of it. He proudly motored his boat around and enjoyed every minute on the water, even if the sails stayed down.

He had a deep passion for gardening and was a true master of growing just about anything. From tomatoes to marijuana, if it was in Ed's garden, you could bet it would thrive. He continued gardening with skill and joy well into his 90s.

Ed also had a great appreciation for love-and like he sometimes joked, maybe even a little too much. He loved the idea of marriage so much that he tried it several times. While his track record with divorce may have been more consistent than his marriages, he never lost his romantic streak or his charm.

He grew up listening to Frank Sinatra, and if there was ever a song that captured Ed's spirit, it was "My Way." Like Frank, Ed lived boldly, with confidence, grit, and a twinkle in his eye.

A private service will be held with immediate family and friends on October 12. In accordance with his wishes, his ashes will be scattered in the Pacific Ocean-a fitting farewell for a man who lived life his way, all the way.
