Master Sgt. Potter was my leader, mentor, and big brother at Ft. Gordon in 1972-1973. He was my favorite NCO in the Army. He understood what I was going through when I arrived at Ft. Gordon from the 'Nam, as a medic. I was just a teen but he saw my potential and made me a leader. He made sure I towed the line, yet he also took a personal interest in my adjustment after the 'Nam, and prepared me for successes that would last me a lifetime. For some reason he just now came to mind, and I felt I should see if I could find him after all these years. I was surprised to find this notice of his passing. He was very special to me and I've told my wife and kids about him many times. For all the good he did in this life, I am confident he is being rewarded with a very wonderful new life. Prayers and best wishes for the family, Joe Turner.
