Dr. Edwin Taylor

Edwin D. "Doc" Taylor , 87 of Trimble, Tennessee died on Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at Baptist Hospital in Union City, Tennessee. Born Sunday, July 11, 1926 in Kenton, Tennessee. He was the son of the late William Wallace Taylor and the late Verna Mae Draper Taylor. Dr. Taylor served in the United States Navy at the end of WWII. He was a member of Trimble United Methodist Church, Kappa Psi fraternity, American Legion, Lions Club, School Board for city of Trimble, Town Board for the city of Trimble. Dr. Taylor attended Peabody High School in Trenton, Tennessee, and is a graduate of Riverside Military Academy and the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy. Dr. Taylor practiced pharmacy for over 40 years, owning businesses in Trimble and Newbern. Funeral Services will be Friday, October 25, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with Bro. John 'Buck" Carroll officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Milan, Tennessee. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 PM-9:00 PM. at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Billie Poindexter Taylor; two daughters Carolyn Taylor of Memphis, Tennessee, Susan and husband Mike Revell of Union City, Tennessee; two sons Bill and wife Jane Taylor of Trimble Tennessee, Mark and wife Leesa Taylor of Shelbyville, Tennessee, five grand children Jeff and wife Beth Weatherly, Amber Taylor, Andrew and wife Sheila Taylor, Emily Taylor, and Jason and wife Rebecca Revell; and seven great- grandchildren Neely Taylor, Addison Taylor, Justin Weatherly, Hannah Weatherly, Hallie Revell, John Walker Revell, Sarah Wallace; one great-great- grandson Kaiden Wallace and two nephews Rob and wife Heather Hays and Dr. Mike and wife Cheryl Hays both of Nashville. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Lillian Hays. Pallbearers will be Bruce Pope, Elvis Sturdivant, Brian Pope, Greg Donaldson, Terry Parker, John Huie. Honorary Pallbearers will be F.C. Shoffner, John Troutt, Charles Stephens, and Horace Doss.
