Eena Karras Obituary
Eena is survived by her beloved husband Thomas; her mother Kamal Singh; her sister Mona Manchanda, brother-in-law Vikram Manchanda, niece Diya, and nephew Jay; her sister Naveena Singh and nephew Nabil; her sister Meeka Singh; her brother Shubhnit Singh; her father-in-law Hans Dieter Karras and partner Lucius Ang; and her brother-in-law Daniel Kai Karras.
Eena graduated from the University of Windsor, Windsor, Canada in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering. She completed a Masters of Business Administration at the University of Maryland. She was employed as a senior supervising engineer at Pepco Holdings Inc. in Washington, D. C.
Eena had the innate ability to touch every life that she ever came in touch with. Her zest for life and her deep sense of concern for everyone's welfare made her an endearingly sweet and affectionate person. Her warm and contagious smile, her glowing angelic face, and her sweet and melodious voice will be very deeply missed. She will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her as a beautiful young woman who lived a life of principle, joy, love, family and friends.
Eena's life will be celebrated in a service at St. Luke Lutheran Church at 7757 Chippenham Parkway, Richmond, Virginia on Saturday, June 2 at 11 AM. The family invites friends to join them at a luncheon reception in the church hall following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Eena's honor to Heifer International at www.heifer.org.

Eena I remember the first time I met you at your house when I came to interview to be your new roommate. You were so sweet and jovial and we just hit it off. It is so difficult to express in words a beautiful soul such as Eena's. We will always remember your affectionate smile, your innocent look, your infectious laughter and your caring attention to friends. Eena, you were truly one of the warmest and kindest people I have ever been lucky enough to call a friend. Eena, You were the opposite of shy. There was no way for anyone to be a wallflower when you were in the room; you would seek people out and welcome them with laughter and conversation. Eeeenz, she will always live on for me in the great memories I have. Like when I used to have a bad day and she would make me some tea and we would sit on the couch together with tea and talk for hours. Like how she loved Keane and we used to sing Keane. She used to love the song frog prince and I was so happy she found her prince in Thomas. How we would laugh together about silly things and stay out dancing until 3 a.m. How she introduced me to hookah! So many memories. So now when I turn on that Keane cd or pull out a box of trader joe's sleepy time tea I will always think of her and that smile which will never fade.

Eena's bubbly banter got us through even the worst commutes. We heard loving stories about her husband, her mother, her sisters and her brother. We grieved with her after the death of her father. We learned what a wonderful father-in-law she had. We talked about Indian food, music and dance. She brought us tastes of Thomas' cooking and generally kept our spirits up on the way to and from work each day. We had known her only 10 months or so, but it seems like we had known her most of our lives. We will truly miss her. Condolences to Thomas and the Singh and Karras families from Eena's car pool.

I have fond memories of Eena. Whenever you would see her, she would have a warm hello and always would make it her "job" to greet you. She was a very sweet soul, not too shy and not overbearing. I will miss her, but I know that however tragic her loss, she is in a much better place and now answers to a higher calling.
