BOLCER

EILEEN age 87, of Spring Lake passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at Mercy Hospital in Muskegon. She was born July 22, 1929, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Austin and Ellen "Nellie" (Brennan) Cronican. She married Edward Bolcer on February 1, 1958, in Cleveland, Ohio. He preceded her in death on June 3, 2005. Eileen was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Spring Lake and the Spring Lake Country Club. She is well remembered now by generations of nursing students from decades of work as a Professor of Nursing at Schoolcraft Community College, until retiring in 1995. Her other interests were traveling, sailing, gardening, caring for her pets, discovering West Michigan, and enjoying the Spring Lake Community. Eileen loved talking history and politics with her husband, family and friends. But most of all she loved her children and grandchildren, and they will remember and cherish her for their whole lives. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Margaret "Meg" (Ted) Yura of Spring Lake; two sons, Mike (Mary) Bolcer of Fenton, MI. and Matt (Jeanne) Bolcer of Troy, MI; five grandchildren: Michele, Dana, Tessa, Kris, and Ben. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Peggy Ignaut and Elaine Manning. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2016, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Spring Lake with Rev. Fr. Dave Gross as celebrant. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be in Lake Forest Cemetery. Memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital are appreciated.
