M. Elaine Enerson (nee Granlin), born in Lethbridge, Alberta, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at the age of 79. Elaine was someone who wore many hats - she was a wife, a mother, a grandmother, great-grandmother, auntie, and a friend to so many. While she was a key ingredient in many of our hearts, it was her heart and sympathetic ear that set her apart. Never judging, Elaine was gifted with her ability to reason and disarm distraught souls. She listened twice as often as she spoke, but when she spoke, she turned muddy waters crystal clear. Always putting her family ahead of herself, she cushioned the landing when life taught hard lessons. She was hip and trendy, with the innate ability to understand and speak across multi-generations. Elaine believed "the secret to success was to be able to change people's minds without them knowing it". A magnificent person, Elaine will be fondly remembered by her family and friends as the perfect mold of compassion, authenticity, and elegance. Elaine will continue to be an inspiration to all that knew her, to those that knew of her, and to those that will come to know of her. Elaine will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by Garth, her husband of 53 years; her three daughters; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends. Elaine was predeceased by her mother Mae Rena, father Elwood, stepmother Marie, nephew Kenneth, and granddaughter Jennifer. At Elaine's request, there will be no Funeral Service; however, family and friends are welcome to join in a gathering in Celebration of Elaine's Life on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the family home.
