Elaine Lux

LUX - Elaine passed away peacefully at home on March 27th after an incredible 12 year survival with cancer. She lived bravely and gracefully. It was a gift to her family to have her at our last family gatherings. She certainly knew that the enjoyment for her family hinged on her being there and she attended with courage and a smile on her face as she fought the pain of her illness. Her husband, Murray will miss her terribly. She was his soul mate. Her grandchildren provided Elaine with such joy as she tried so hard to be healthy enough to enjoy them. It was the little things she did, that added up to so much love. Elaine was born in Humboldt on January 27th, 1960 to Bill and Liz Becker. Elaine will be remembered by all who knew her for her undying faith, her gift of friendship and her joy of tasking, both at her cabin and at home. Elaine was a consummate gardener. She had lovely flower beds at home and at the cabin. She enjoyed vegetable gardening as well and she could certainly prepare and serve the vegetables she grew. Everyone who met her quickly befriended her. She would do anything for a friend. No request was too much. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren. They were so important to her and she could make the simplest things something special because they were from Grandma. Elaine is loved and remembered by her husband, Murray; son, Jason (Danielle) and their children Logan, Jakeb and their soon to be expected sibling; daughter, Sheri (Mike) and their daughter Alissa all of Saskatoon; mother, Liz Becker-Sawicki (Mike) of Humboldt; sister, Irene (Gerry) and Raissa Purcell of Pike Lake; brothers, Myron (Jan), Chad and Kim of Chicago; Kevin (Tracy), Lindsay and Melissa of Calgary; sister, Lorna (Darin) and children, Cory, Colin, Cameron, Sarah, Nathan and Kayden of Lethbridge. Elaine also leaves to mourn Murray's family, Hubert (Delaine) Lux of Saskatoon, Garry (Estelle), Ryan, Andrew and Kathryn Lux of Medicine Hat; Yvonne (Adrian), Michael and Joycelyn Kristoff of Saskatoon; Joyce (Jack), Jackie, Meagan and Parker Cameron of St. Albert; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and their families and many friends. Elaine was predeceased by her father, Bill; grandparents, Albert (Agnes) Becker and Bill (Gertrude) Stanjek. Vigil for Elaine will be held on Thursday, March 30th at 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 31st at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Father Denis Phaneuf as celebrant. Both services from Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church (114 Kingsmere Pl). Following a brief reception, Rite of Committal will take place at 5:00 p.m. that afternoon at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Cemetery, Humboldt, SK.
