Elaine Mohler

Elaine Mohler, age 85, a longtime resident of Marysville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2025, in Springfield, Ohio. Born on February 18, 1940, in Kenton, Ohio, Elaine was the daughter of Austin L. Dotson and Bernice Bailey Dotson, who preceded her in death.

Elaine was the beloved wife of the late Max L. Mohler, with whom she shared sixty-four years of love and devotion since their marriage on August 30, 1959, in Union County, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her siblings Elmo "Bo" Dotson, Ernest "Earnie" Dotson, Elmarvin "Midge" Frey, Edmund "Ted" Dotson, Edsel Dotson, Edward Dotson, Gene Dotson, and half-sisters Edythe Prater, Essie Legg, and Ellaree Stettler. Surviving siblings are Ethel "Mae" Weydert, Larry Dotson, Alva (Elaine) Dotson, Evelyn "Sue" (Butch) Bible, Gary (Regina) Dotson, and Robert "Bob" (Louisa) Dotson.

A devoted mother, Elaine is survived by her three daughters: Diana (Michael) Kearns, Janice (Robert) Speicher, and LuAnn McKenna. She was the proud grandmother of Rebecca Pino, Austin McKenna, and Aydan Kearns, and had many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Elaine graduated from Byhalia-York High School in 1958. She embraced her role as a homemaker with love and dedication, pouring her energy into raising her family. A gifted seamstress, she created much of her children's clothing and found joy in crafts and needle arts throughout her life. She loved gardening, taking pride in raising flowers and vegetables for her family.

Deeply committed to her community, Elaine received multiple awards recognizing her commitment over 33 years as a volunteer at Union County Memorial Hospital, and served as a 4-H Advisor where she encouraged and mentored young people. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she was an active member of Cornerstone Methodist Church in Marysville, Ohio.

Elaine's love for animals, especially her cats, was well known among her family and friends. In her memory, contributions may be made to the Union County Humane Society, 16540 County Home Road, Marysville, OH 43040.

A service to honor Elaine's life will be held at a later date. Elaine Mohler will be remembered for her creativity, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family.
