Tucson -

On July 12, 2025, Elaine Whelan passed away at the age of 102 years, 7 months and 10 days, or as she would say because she liked to round up, 103 years. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 2nd, 1922 and moved to Tucson in 1943, where she raised her family. While in Tucson, she worked as a Federal Court Clerk, a legal secretary and as a Real Estate Broker for over 30 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick and Joan Radtkin, her husband of 60 years, James B. Whelan, and her son-in-law, David M. Bevans. She is survived by her children Michael P. Whelan (Patricia), Sharon L. Chenevert (William), and Elaine W. Bevans. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Tiffany Parker (Brad), Erin Zikas (Viktoras), Travis Whelan (Linzee), Robert Chenevert, Alex Bevans (Rachel) and Eric Bevans, as well as twelve great grandchildren who will all remember her as a fun, spunky, hard working, opinionated, sweet and loving woman. She will be missed and remembered for our lifetimes.
