Elba Buchanan Obituary
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. Saturday, October 21, 2017, at Memory Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Sunday, at Memory Chapel. Bro. Ed Ludt will officiate. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Bevill Hill Cemetery in Winston County, MS
Mrs. Buchanan was a homemaker and a member of Sandersville United Presbyterian Church. Her favorite scriptures were John 3:16 and Psalm 23. She was member of the Master Gardeners Association, and avid church goer and enjoyed her Bible study group.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry King and Lorine King; husbands, Lawrence Kinard and Elton Buchanan; and daughter, Donna M. Sherman.
Survivors include her son, Levin Kinard (Joan Hunt) of Louisiana; step-sons, Mike Buchanan (Jennifer), Andy Buchanan (Ann), Jeff Buchanan, and Chris Buchanan (Lisa); daughter, Elba Kinard (Matt Arnold) of Colorado; step-daughter, Kammy White (David); sister, Marlene Padgett (Jerry) of Maryland, grandchildren, Rodney Sherman (Kim), Micah Jernigan (J.D.), Ollis Sherman (Kayla), and Cole Sherman (Stephanie); eleven step grandchildren; great grandchildren, Holley and Hailey Jernigan, Bentley, Allison, and Brennan Sherman, Jace, and Kylie Sherman, Kayleigh Sherman, and Blaine Sherman; and one step great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be J. D. Jernigan, Rodney Sherman, Ollis Sherman, Cole Sherman, Mike Sherman, Mike Buchanan, and Andy Buchanan. Honorary pallbearers are Ellis Blanton and Maurice King.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Diabetes or Cancer Foundation of your choice.
