I was a patient of Dr. Goodier and Dr. Jacobs at the early age of 5 at Mercy Hospital. They both did Bladder and hernia surgery along with other procedures over the years to make sure I remained healthy. I was truly blessed to have met him, he always put a smile on my face when I was afraid as a child. Now at 45, I have been able to have a healthy life because of his actions so long ago. I am truly sorry for your loss and pray for his whole family.

I met Dr. Goodier only once, at the time I consulted him during a complicated obstetrical procedure. I found him to be an excellent surgeon. He diligently followed the patient with me throughout her postoperative course, and she fully recovered. His professionalism, surgical skill, and personability were exceptional. The medical community and world in general will feel emptier without him.
My deepest condolences,
André Guette, MD

To the entire Goodier Family: I offer my deepest sympathy and prayers at this difficult time. I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Goodier when I was in the Medical Staff office at the Mercy Hospital campus after the merge with Baptist Hospital but before Tenet came in. It was time of transition for the medical staff of both campuses and Dr. Goodier was such a wonderful man to work with. In later years he treated my daughter-in-law Jennifer at East Jefferson. He will be sorely missed by the entire community he served.
Sincerely, Linda Forte Meany Vicknair

Dearest Cathy, children,, Lynda LoCoco and GLENN GOODIER ,
Bert and I grew up together attending Holy Rosary, serving as altar boys, playing indoor ball on CSAL and CYO teams being coached
by Vincent LoCoco and Felix Chetta. We both had a special
appreciation of the efforts of Fr. Jerome Mire and Fr. Charles
Palughi who were instrumental in helping to instill in each of us
our joy of living life to its fullest with respect for all our friends and aquaintances.
We really enjoyed our Boy Scout summer camps at Petit Jean Mountain and Devil's Den in Arkansas with Troop 52. We attended
many New Orleans Pelicans baseball games together as well as ushering TULANE football games at Sugar Bowl Stadium with other
fellow scouts.
We drove together to LSU Medical School and often double dated
Especially enjoying attending the N O Summer Pops concerts .
Bert was an accomplished urologist and I felt very confident in referring many of my patients to him for continued care when I moved to Monroe, LA for 5 years after Hurricane Katrina.
May he rest in peace for eternity beside Our Lady of the Holy Rosary with her SON and GOD the FATHER .
Bert's legacy will continue thru his children and grandchildren for generations to come. May they emulate his wonderful example.
Wanda Anne and I will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers.

I am shocked and deeply saddened of the loss of a great man. I have been a patient of Dr. Goodier's for over 40 years since he was with Dr. Jacobs. Fortunately I did not have to see him too often but when I had a problem he was always there and available. He was most professional, kind and considerate and it will be very difficult to replace him. Please accept my deepest condolences for the family as well as his staff, Rosa and Dayna. God Bless you all during this very difficult time.

I happened to enter the interstate as Dr. Goodier's funeral procession was passing Bonnabel Blvd. making its way to the Metairie Road exit.
As I caught up to the hearse, I honked and saluted the doctor and went about my business.
I did not know Dr. Goodier but I know people who did.
The long procession of cars with their headlights on is proof of how well-loved and respected your husband, father, grandfather, etc. was by so many people.
May you find comfort in everyone's thoughts and prayers.

I had been a patient of Dr. Goodier for the last 20 years. We spent more time chatting about Holy Rosary (I went there also 'class of '68), politics, crime, Katrina and whatever was the latest topic on the news than on the reason for my visit. He treated me several times over the years with always successful results. He was an incredibly kind, friendly, likable man. I will miss him greatly. My condolences to the family.

Dr. Goodier came into our world thru an emergency. My brother is 69 years old and severely mentally retarded. Dr.G's compassion and reassuring words helped us thru the difficult times we were going to face. Darryl so loved him and called him "my surgeon". Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. I know this is a very hard time for his loving wife and children and grandchildren that he was so proud of and spoke about and the twinkle would come to his eyes. I have no doubt he is in heaven and his wings are Golden. He was the perfect example of a "gentlemen". With Love and Prayers...Lynn, Darryl& Debbie

To Dr. Goodier's family: I was a patient & used to tease him he wasn't Dr. Goodier, he was Dr. GOODIEST, the absolute best. He exuded exemplary qualities of care, concern, fairness & thoroughness both as a man & a physician, so I know what a blessing he was to his family, whose pictures he proudly displayed & spoke of with love in his office.
