Eleanor Bradt Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 13, 2025.
Eleanor "Ellie" "Cookie" Bradt (née Jarvis), 80, passed away on March 8, 2025, in Amsterdam, New York. Born on July 20, 1944, in Amsterdam, she lived a life filled with spirit and determination.

Ellie was known for her feisty personality and no-nonsense attitude. She did things her way and never hesitated to speak her mind. Her sharp wit and sense of humor brought laughter to those around her. She had a deep love for owls, dancing, crocheting, and Hallmark Christmas movies. Shopping and people-watching were among her favorite pastimes, and she had a well-known penchant for driving fast.

She is survived by her children: Philip (Jean) Bradt, Gary (Stacy) Bradt, and Tammy (Jeremy) Bradt; her siblings: Edward (Daryl) Jarvis, Joseph (Becky) Jarvis, Donna Thorne, and Mary Smith; her grandchildren: Tasha (Jay) Goldberg, Aimee Bradt, Joshua Bradt, Ryan Bradt, Evan Bradt, Zachary Bradt, Jacob Carlson, and Samuel Carlson; her great-granddaughter Karlee Jensen; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Ellie was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Lucille Lavigne Jarvis; her siblings Lucy Jarvis Lewis, Robert Jarvis, Peter Jarvis, Donald Jarvis, Christopher Jarvis, Michael Jarvis, and Christine Elizabeth Jarvis; and her husband, though separated, James Bradt.

At this time, no services will be held. The family will gather for a celebration of life at a later date to honor Ellie's memory in the way she would have wanted.

Her bold spirit and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

So very saddened by your sudden passing. I always remember playing softball and cards with you and Jim...Kenny and I always lost because you cheated! We all will miss you and hope you are at peace and with Mom, Dad and our brothers and sisters. Our deepest sympathy and condolences to Phil, Gary, Tammy and their families. Love you!
