Eleanor Louise Cook

Eleanor Louise Barrett Cook passed away peacefully on April 22, 2024, at the age of 89 in Beckley, WV. She was born on August 6, 1934, in Brenton, WV, and was the beloved wife of the late Paris Eugene Cook.

Louise was a devoted and hard-working woman whose life centered around her eight children and her grandchildren and church family at Christian Fellowship Worship Center. Her passion for flower gardening, crafting, and gospel music brought joy to those around her. She was a pillar of strength for her family and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her children: Pamela Hall, Gary Cook, Jeanette Hall, Marta Mitchell (Terry), Jeffrey Cook, Mark Cook, Keith Cook (Angie), along with 24 grandchildren, Angela (Brendon), Toler, Ernie (Chandra), Hall, Nikki Hall, Jamie (Eugene) Blankenship , Josh (Danielle) Hall , Misty (Mike), Ellis, Chris Mitchell , Kimberly (Gary) Gammon, Aaron Cook, , Brittany (Joey) Besl, Ryan (Jessi) Cook, Emily (Chris) Cook, Chloe Cook and Sydney (Jordan) Sheppard. 31 great-grandchildren Tristan (Jaiden) Toler, Sierra (Elijah) Toler, Hunter (Kelsey) Hall, Tanner (Kaitlynn) Hall, Hannah & Hayden Blankenship, Reagan, Ryder, Brynlee, MaKenna,& Emersyn Hall, Mekensi (Clayton) Hedrick, Stevy (Rocky) Kirkland, Kylie Kirkland,, Brayden & Kaden Ellis , Shianne & Johnny Villorin , Jordan & Savannah Mitchell, Anna Samples, Brier, Piper, Maizy, Zane Cook, Grayson, Easton, Scarlett Besl, Sage Cook and Oliver Sheppard due in June, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, Willow Perdue, Briggs Toler, Asher & Bristol Hall and Deagen Hedrick..

Louise was the last surviving member of her immediate family and is preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Thelma Cook Barrett, her husband Paris Eugene Cook, her sons Gregory and Byron Cook, grandchildren BJ Hammitt, Garrett Cook and Aimee Ruiz, her daughter-in-law, Betty Cook and other beloved family members.

A visitation will be held from 6 pm to 9 pm on Friday, April 26, followed by a service at 12 noon on Saturday April 27th, both at Christian Fellowship Worship Center in Pineville. Pastor Bill Goode and Matt Campbell will officiate the service. A family dinner will be provided after the service on Saturday at the church.

Evans-Calfee Funeral Service located at 614 Appalachian Highway, Pineville, WV 24874, is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements.

Louise's legacy of love, faith, and dedication to her family will forever be cherished by those who knew her. May she rest in peace.
