She was born in Strangford, Pa. May 31, 1923, daughter of the late Samuel C. and Margie Marie (Berg) Horrell and raised in Cokeville. During World War II she worked at the Acme Die Munitions plant. She spent 30 years in Pittsburgh where she was active in the John Wesley Methodist Church. Her later years were spent in Blairsville. She is survived by her daughter Carol Guskey and husband Louis, Lansing, Mich.; grandchildren Fleur Zahner and husband Thomas and Louis J. Guskey; sisters Norma Crawford and Marie Marsh and husband Ernest; brother Phillip Horrell and wife Sharyn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John Frederick; sister Vivian Leary; brothers Charles and Donald; half-brother Malcolm Berg. Special thanks are extended to Helen Munshower, Sandy Locke, Mary Beryl and Richard Antoline, Dr. John Gregg, Paul Gundy and Charles Repine who enabled Eleanor to live independently for so long. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in the Ferguson Funeral Home, Blairsville. Additional visitation will be held Saturday in the First United Methodist Church, Blairsville, from 9:30 a.m. until the the time of services at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Dean E. Byrom officiating. Interment will be in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
