Eleanor Polichetti Obituary

POLICHETTI, ELEANOR I. (FAZZI), 90, wife of Henry Polichetti of 62 years, died Monday surrounded by her loving family.

She was the daughter of the late Americo and Christine (Fratantuono) Fazzi. Born in Providence and raised in Cranston, she graduated from Cranston High School and the former Catherine Gibbs secretarial school in Providence.

She chose to spend most of her life raising her family and later worked as a secretary at Stone Hill Elementary School in Cranston.

In 1943, she was chosen by Sen. Theodore Francis Greene and the secretary of the U.S. Navy to christen submarine USS Plaice in honor of her late brother, war veteran Victor Fazzi. She was also the sister of the late Edmund Fazzi.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Eleanor 'Lea' (Polichetti) Emby and Barbara Polichetti-Riza; her sons-in-law William Emby and James Riza; her sister, Christine Uliano and her granddaughter Nicole Emby.

Her funeral will be held Saturday at 8:00 a.m. from 'WOODLAWN' Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Avenue Cranston followed by Funeral Liturgy outside of Mass at 9:00 a.m. in St. Matthew's Church, Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. Calling Hours Friday 4-7 p.m..
