Eleanor Schweibert (Hussey) Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 30, 2025.
Eleanor R. Schweibert (Hussey) of Washington Crossing, PA passed away peacefully on September 18, 2025 at age 84.

Born in 1940 to the late Mr. and Mrs. John Hussey, Eleanor grew up in Philadelphia, PA. She attended Little Flower High School, and went on to graduate from Philadelphia's Albert Einstein Medical Center School of Nursing in 1961. She had a dedicated career in psychiatric nursing-an endeavor that ultimately brought her and her husband together.

"El," as she was affectionately known, was an avid reader, cook, and enjoyed traveling. The ultimate hostess, she was always surrounded by friends and her precious pets. She and her husband enjoyed many fond memories in Long Beach Island as members of the Brant Beach Yacht Club.

Eleanor is predeceased by her beloved husband, Dr. Raymond H. Schweibert Jr. with whom she shared 42 wonderful years of marriage, and cherished siblings Patricia Jayne Lewis and John Hussey.

Ellie is survived by a superfluity of people who loved her; her nieces and nephew; Michael (Cara) Jayne, Terry Zoog, Tracey (Mike) Ashman, and great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her cousin Paul (Diane) Nonnenmann. Beyond her family, she leaves behind a legacy of lifelong friendship, with too many dear companions to list individually.

A memorial luncheon will be held at The Plumsteadville Inn (5902 Easton Rd, Pipersville, PA 18947) @1PM on Friday, October 3rd. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association by calling 1-800-272-3900 or going to Act.Alz.org/donate.
