ELI KRAUS Obituary

Published by Vancouver Sun and/or The Province from May 15 to May 16, 2015.
KRAUS, Eli
A 90 year life well-lived and thoroughly enjoyed came to a peaceful end May 9, 2015. Eli was born to immigrant Russians in Rockaway, NY, the fifth of five children. After serving in WWII, he obtained an engineering degree from Brooklyn Polytechnic and moved to Montreal, Qc where he started a family and began a successful optical business. Retiring at an early age, he was an avid golfer and traveller until his final move to Vancouver, BC. He was well known and loved for his integrity, zest for life, ability to connect with people in many languages, keen sense of humour and love of Chinese food. He is lovingly remembered by his two daughters Danielle (Michael) and Deborah (Tom), grandchildren Matthew (Danielle), Jonathan (Laura), Brendan, Joshua, former son-in-law Mark, and many nieces and nephews. A private memorial will be held at a later date. Many thanks to Stephanie Chan, Erwin Ketterer, Eli's doctors, and all the wonderful people at Arbutus Manor, the Weinberg Residence, Evergreen Nursing and Vancouver General Hospital.
