Hi Father,

It's me, (you know, your opinionated daughter in NC),knowing that I won't get a response this time, but I'm making use of the opportunity that has avail itself to me.

It's been a rough journey, since God called you home! However, since I know God, I know that eventually the pain and tears will subside. There are so many things that I feel we could still talk about, debate, etc. But time has run out!

If I could have one wish now concerning you and I, it would be to hear your voice on the other end of the telephone. "Mrs. Jackson, Mr. Bouie here, how's my baby doing?"
Nonetheless, as we always ended our conversations... Mad Love for You, Much Love to You. I'll see on the other side!

To my father, Mr. Bouie
From your daughter, Mrs. Jackson

PS I have the bull by the horns and I'm digging in.
Much Love (It's good to know that I am not in this game by myself)

To Pat and Teresa,
My heartfelt sympathy goes out to each of you. May God continue to bless and strengthened you during this time in your lives, for we know to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
I am happy that God saw fit for our paths to cross.

I first met Mr. Bouie a little over ten years ago. Fresh out of college and wanting to get my career started in construction management, I submitted my resume to several companies, one of them a small company in my hometown, Bouie Construction, Inc. He offered me a position as a APM/Estimator. I thought that I had won the lottery. In the short weeks that followed, I recall going home at night and thinking to myself, "what in the world have I gotten myself into?"(smile) But in the months that followed, I understood that what I had gotten was a powerful and dynamic mentor willing to share with me all the knowledge and wisdom of years past the best way that he knew how. What I got was a man that opened himself, his business, and his home to me. Preparing me not just for life in construction, but life itself. I recall countless evenings going back and forth with him in the office, sometimes until 10 or 12 at night, but it was ok because I didn't mind learning, and he didn't mind teaching. That's the kind of man he was. As the years went by and I decided to see if I could make it in the world from underneath his everpresent wing of protection over me that I had grown very much accustomed to, it took me over a month to accept a position with another firm and tell Mr. Bouie. First, because I was scared.(smile) But secondly, because I wasn't just leaving Bouie Construction, I was leaving a sister in Patricia. I was leaving a brother in Don. I was leaving Mrs. Bouie and Mr. Bouie. I was leaving family. Yet and still, he did what he had always done, offering me his words of advice and encouragement while letting me know in his own way that for whatever reason, if need be, I could always come "home". For that, I will always cherish the time spent with Mr. Bouie. For that, I will always cherish him.

- Maurice to #1.
- This is #1, over.
- God bless you #1.
- 10-4, #1 out.
