NEELEY, ELISABETH G., 76, resident of Episcopal Place of Birmingham, Alabama passed away Friday, May 21st, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband of 18 years, William C. Neeley and former husband of twenty-five years and father of two children Kirby J. Godwin. She was born in Eastlake, Alabama April 23rd, 1934 to Gertrude B. Guthrie and Wade D. Sniddy. Preceded by one sister, JoAnn Speigel and nephew Donn Rutledge and survived by her sister and brother-in-law Mary and Jerry Lankford, Cousin Ann Williams, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Linda and Wendell Murphy, brother-in-law Mark (Ingrid) Godwin and Minot Godwin (deceased). She is survived by her two children Joy Payne and Travis Godwin and two grandchildren Jonathon S Payne II and Brandon (Tiffany) Payne. Also survived by two step-children, Sharon (Randy) Munsey and David (Cheryl) Neeley and step-grand-children Bryan Munsey, Brooke Neeley, F.D. (April) Singleton and one great-grandchild Victoria Overstreet; and several nieces and nephews Tommy Rutledge, Jeff (Liz) Lankford, David (Danelle) Lankford, Curtis (Brooke) Lankford, Cindy Bass and Marlee, Wesley (Donna) Godwin, Madison and John Wesley, Oliver (Diane) Godwin Steven and Emily, Mark Tilton (Laura) Godwin Kenden and Lauren, Olivia (Scott) Hill, Garrett and Gage, Del (Wendy) Murphey Regan and Wen, Wendy (Kelly) Crumpler and Tristan and Harley; and grand nieces and nephews Scott Williams Laura and Beth, Jonathan (Bethany) Lankford, Jessica (Barry) Bonner, Andrew, Cole and Presley Lankford. She was a 1957 graduate from the Free Will Baptist Bible College in Tennessee and served as a missionary five years in Fairbanks, Alaska and five years in Anchorage, Alaska before returning home to Birmingham. Funeral Services will be officiated by Dr. Bill Johnson of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church and held at Elmwood Cemetery Chapel 800 Dennison Ave, Birmingham, Alabama 35211, at 3 p.m. with graveside service to follow Tuesday, May 25th and family will receive friends Monday, May 24th 5-7 p.m. at the Elmwood Chapel.
