Frank LARONDE

LARONDE Frank Demerse, passed away peacefully at Royal Jubilee Hospital on his 86th birthday, January 12, 2003. Predeceased by his son, Thomas Frank in 1963. Survived by his loving wife, Jessie; sons, Les (Dianne), Del (Linda), Vince(Brenda) and Phil; daughter-in-law, Linda; grandson, Paul; granddaughters, Cherie, Robin, Genevieve, Jessica, Katherine and Stacey; great-grandchildren, Megan, Gregory, Alicia, Heather and Jacob; brother Ralph (Ruby), sister-in-law Hazel and nieces and nephews. Frank was born in Le Pas, Manitoba and raised in Ocean Park, B.C. He traveled to New Zealand where he married Jessie and returned to Canada to join the RCAF for the Second World War. Frank studied Civil Engineering at UBC and served 28 years with the Dept. of Highways. He was a pilot instructor during the war, maintained his license and flew for many years. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Brittania Branch for 52 years. His lifelong interests were ballroom dancing and photography. We remember Frank as a quiet, intelligent, sincere man with a subtle sense of humour. A wonderful husband, father, grandfather & friend. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 17, at 2:00pm at St. George's Anglican Church, 3909 St. George's Lane.
