KEESEVILLE — Elizabeth "Betty" Ashline, 77, of Grove Street, Keeseville, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Plattsburgh, Jan. 4, 1932, the daughter of Arthur and Lila (Frenia) Bashaw.

Betty was a graduate of Peru High School. She married Lionel Ashline April 19, 1952, at St. Augustine's Church in Peru.

She enjoyed gardening and bird watching. Betty was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Lionel Ashline; five children, Mike Ashline and his wife, Valerie of Maryland, Randy Ashline and his wife, Terry of Keeseville, Michele Zalasky and Raymond Murphy of AuSable Forks, Timothy Ashline and his wife, Shirley of Keeseville, and Scott Ashline and his wife, Sue of Clintonville; grandchildren, Sean and Raquel Ashline, Travis and Melanie Ashline, Christina and Joe Bushey, Austin Ashline, Lindsey and Ryan Campagna, Jody and Samantha Ashline and Steven, Josh and Jacob Ashline; great-grandchildren; sisters, Yvonne Mello, Edna Dodge and Doris Bashaw, all of Peru; brothers, Edward Bashaw of Peru and Robert Bashaw and his wife, Elizabeth of Albany; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Joseph Bashaw; and sister, Agnes Chamberlain.

Calling hours will be held Monday, Dec. 28, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A memorial Mass will follow at 12:30 p.m. at St. Augustine's Church in Peru with the Rev. Alan D. Schnob, parish pastor, celebrating. Burial will be in the spring in the Evergreen Cemetery in Keeseville.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Keeseville Fire Department.
